Yeeeahh...
Need to post more often, obviously.
Something I think can benefit most artists out there: go through yer shit semi-regularly. You'd be amazed on what you find that you didn't remember having. Also, organization is a good idea.
Updating your art blog more often is also probably a good idea.
Lately I've been rather attached to the idea of Punk and Goth crafts. Especially with household things like decorating. For Thanksgiving my awesome boyfriend got me a book called Home Rockanomics by Heidi Minx.
For those looking for alternative books for craft projects, I would recommend this one even though it's not very long and the recipes may not be interesting to avid meat-eaters. It has some neat ideas and will get you started on your own ideas. Paint It Black by Voltaire is also a good one for the Goth crowd.
Craft books like these makes me wish I had a sewing machine that worked, however. Hand sewing, while better if you're making Renaissance Period clothing, is a pain in the ASS. Sewing trim by hand, even more so.
Also makes me wish that my hand sewing skills were better, as I've been trying to alter some old clothing and use some fabric that I love for various things.
My current project is making myself a neon green and black striped scarf.
I have some other projects on hand, but they're kinda on the back burner at the moment. Things like making an aged book, making a painting of the TARDIS in warp, some Steampunk blasters, and a pinstriped skirt. The skirt I may or may not scrap.
And so this is not a completely useless post: pictures!
One of the hats I made randomly.
A hat I made for a friend. You can't really see it, but there's a lot of blue Tulle back behind the hat.
Top of my re-painted night stand. Orion galaxy.
Front of the night stand. The drawer got too heavily painted with stars, so that's why it looks weird.

Happens more than you think...
There are times when I really wish I had a drawing tablet.
...Actually, I wish that a lot of the time.
Quite a while ago (because being busy and laziness wins apparently) I decided I was going to try to mostly post art on here. Art, or rather comics. Or whatever other random crap I come up with and decide to post (hence the post about snot.)
I did draw some comics, but again the lazy thing. With much prodding from The Cas One, I'm actually posting again.
Though I still wish I had a tablet. Scanned drawings look terrible, and there is only so much I can do to them through GIMP (though I'm learning more as I go.)
And so here is the first of probably several badly drawn, inked and scanned comics. (With one end cut off a bit because I suck.)

Well THAT looks....interesting.
The joys of digging through old art supplies.
While there are some things that you can hoard for years with little problems, there are others that do not hold up so well. Paint is a good example, and generally common knowledge. You'd think that if you keep the cap on tightly that this would not be a problem.
And really, paint can last a good long while like that, depending on what the container itself is made out of and what kind of paint it is. I've been told that putting the cap back on with a layer of plastic wrap behind it also helps.
Varnish is much like paint.
However when it gets old, it doesn't dry up and burst the tube like a lot of paints. Nor does it separate into a watery slime with a semi-solid mass at the bottom.
Nope!
It sets up like super-snot.
I was going to varnish a table with it, but I think I may have to wait a little until I can get new varnish.
I think I shall keep the super-snot for a little bit longer, at least until I can find something to use it for. Perhaps use it like glue for things like tiles and other 3D stuff. I have this urge to sculpt something from it, but I'm pretty sure that it would not work as I would like it and just make a mess.
No matter how tempting it may be...
